Meet Chris Powell, a talented singer-songwriter and instrumentalist with three decades of experience in the Mobile, Alabama music scene. Beginning his musical journey at 9, he transitioned from piano to trumpet before discovering his love for guitar in bands like Midnight Crush and A.M. Radio. In the early 2000s, he co-founded the band Peek, which continues to perform throughout the southeast while supporting charitable events such as the American Cancer Society’s annual Chili Cook Off. As he steps into a new era in 2025 under the name Christian Ponder, Chris is excited to announce his debut solo album, The Late Bloom, featuring the heartfelt first single, “Ain’t I a Dog" produced by accomplished artists Keylan Laxton (Yung Bleu, Xae Hardawae) and Anthony Crawford (Steve Forbert, Willie Sugarcapps).
